Temnikova and Kasela is delighted to announce their return to Independent New York. Together with Margot Samel gallery they will represent Estonian artist Merike Estna. Estna’s practice challenges disciplinary divisions and norms, addressing the notion of ecology as a fragile balance: in arts, the natural world, and human politics.
Her works were exhibited in Moderna Museum, Sweden, and Kiasma Art Museum, Finland, and her medium-shifting performances were staged at the Baltic Triennial 13 and the Performa 17 in New York. Merike’s immersive multimedia assemblage was presented at Liste Art Fair, 2022 and a major solo exhibition took place at Kai Art Center, Estonia.
