Performing the six-part choral cycle “Forgotten Peoples” by composer Veljo Tormis

Estonian choral group Collegium Musicale presents a pop-up concert of “Forgotten Peoples” by Estonian composer Veljo Tormis, The concert will be performed on the steps of Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park, designed by Estonian-born architect Louis Kahn.

The basis for this choral cycle are the so-called “runic songs” of six Finno-Ugric peoples, whose languages and songs have almost disappeared. The choir will take the audience on a journey to these six small and ancient nations to hear the stories of their life and destiny.

This concert is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture and Consulate General of Estonia in New York.
